The Comcast Media & Technology is excited to participate in this year's Denver Startup Week, taking place September 25-29, 2017.

We will be hosting and conducting the following sessions in the Tivoli Community Theater:

International high school students visit Center

CMTC welcomed high school students from across the United Arab Emirates. These inquisitive students were attending the EducationUSA Academy at the CU Boulder campus. The EducationUSA Academy is designed for high performing international high school students, many of whom intend to study in the US for their undergraduate and/or graduate degrees. These students often have older siblings, family members, and friends who are also interested in studying in the U.S.

Campus Technology – The University of Colorado Denver is opening a new facility that combines media, technology and entrepreneurship. Thanks to a $5 million gift from Comcast, the university is building the Comcast Media and Technology Center, an interdisciplinary space for students to mix with the outside business community. At the new center, students will work to solve real-world problems presented by staff experts representing Comcast and other businesses.

CU Denver Today - The University of Colorado Denver has announced the launch of the Comcast Media and Technology Center, a new academic facility made possible by a cash and in-kind contribution from Comcast Cable valued at $5 million.  The Comcast Media and Technology Center at CU Denver will offer a special curriculum designed to help cultivate the unique combination of technical and creative skills necessary to create the workforce of tomorrow.

CU Denver launches media/tech center

Denver Business Journal - The University of Colorado Denver has a new academic facility dedicated to media and technology, created through $5 million in cash and in-kind contributions from Comcast Cable.

The Comcast Media and Technology Center, which will be located in the Tivoli Student Union on the Auraria Campus, will function as a place where users can learn about how technical and creative skills are needed for new approaches to research and development, media creation and content delivery.

Denver university gets $5 million to mix art, tech and entrepreneurship in new center

Denver Post - A $5 million gift to the University of Colorado Denver will combine the study of art and technology with real-world problems in an innovation center named after donor Comcast Corp.

Philadelphia-based Comcast, which employs more than 8,000 people in Colorado, provided the funds partly to invest in a future workforce. But more importantly, said Comcast’s Matt McConnell, students will learn to mix skills — something necessary in the real world that doesn’t always happen if, for example, an engineering student is only studying code.
