Lunch & Learn Lunch Series Spring 2019: Liquid Luck (FITV); Launching a Film Company
Join FITV CAM Alumni, Ian and Lauryn Kellett, as they discuss their passion of creating a film company, Liquid Luck, in an industry that doesn’t really exist in Colorado. Working in downtown Denver with a team of five CAM graduates, Liquid Luck has built their company from bottom up to become an award willing way to tell stories through video.
“Ian and I met in a high school film class and we decided to pursue film degrees at CAM together. While we were both in the film program we realized we needed a name to attach to the films we were creating together and so Liquid Luck was formed. We made many films in college, winning two local Heartland Emmy's as students. Once we graduated we had two options to pursue our film careers: either working for one of two film studios here in Colorado or moving to California to work from the bottom up. We decided neither was for us and decided to make Liquid Luck a full-time job. We had to make our company from the ground-up in an industry that really doesn't exist in our state. We found a niche creating videos for businesses as well as finding creative ways to fund our passion projects. Our company now has grown to a small team of 5 people, all CAM graduates, and we have an office overlooking downtown Denver and the CU campus. We are all passionate about telling stories through video, we are big film nerds, and we honestly love what we do.”
